Transportation
Commuter trains, regional buses, highways - and why the REM isn't one of them.
Vaudreuil-Dorion is a regional transit hub anchored by its exo commuter train station, with connecting bus routes and highway access - but it is not served by Montreal's REM light-rail network.
exo commuter train - Vaudreuil/Hudson line
Gare Vaudreuil is the terminus of exo's Vaudreuil–Hudson commuter train line, with roughly a 65-minute ride into downtown Montreal (Gare Lucien-L'Allier) across 17 stations.

Local & regional buses
exo's La Presqu'Île sector bus network connects Vaudreuil-Dorion with Hudson, L'Île-Perrot, Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot, Pincourt, Rigaud, and Saint-Lazare.
A separate route (circuit 99, exo du Sud-Ouest) links Gare Vaudreuil with Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, with four morning and four evening departures.
Transport Soleil provides adapted paratransit and taxi service for eligible riders.

Highway access
The city is served by highways 20, 30, and 40. Highway 40's Île-aux-Tourtes bridge - the only direct link to Montreal's West Island - has been under major reconstruction since late 2023; see this site's dedicated page on that project below for the timeline and what it means for your commute.
The REM does not serve Vaudreuil-Dorion
Montreal's REM (Réseau express métropolitain) light-rail network does not extend into Vaudreuil-Soulanges. Its western branch terminates at Anse-à-l'Orme on Montreal's West Island and does not cross the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge. As a result, some exo express bus routes connecting Vaudreuil-Dorion directly to Montreal have been restructured. Because this is an active, evolving situation, confirm current routes close to when you actually need them.
