Tour d'eau de Dorion

This active municipal water tower was transformed into a large-scale mural and unveiled on June 5, 2019, as part of the celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of the 1994 merger of Vaudreuil and Dorion, and to help revitalize boulevard Harwood. The design followed a citizen ideation session and includes digital lighting effects at night.

The mural depicts six "guardians" symbolizing the city's history: culture, represented by singer-poet Félix Leclerc; education, represented by Paul Gérin-Lajoie; memory, represented by the railway bridge linking Île-Perrot to Dorion; water, represented by a seigneurial-era windmill; the bridge, represented by a railway worker; and family, represented by the Juillet family on the waterfront. A short documentary, "Les Gardiens de la tour," covers the mural's creation.
